Elizabeth Osborne concentrates in the areas of estate planning, asset protection and taxation. She works with individuals and families to successfully achieve their testamentary goals through customized succession plans, including preparation of wills, trusts and additional creative planning devices.
Elizabeth advises clients as to gifting and other strategies to promote efficient wealth transfer and asset preservation at the least possible tax cost.
Elizabeth also has experience in general business and taxation matters for corporations, limited-liability companies and partnerships. In addition, she is skilled in corporate and residential real estate matters, where she utilizes her knowledge as a licensed real estate agent. Elizabeth has held an Illinois real estate agent license since 2004.
At Loyola University Chicago School of Law she worked as an academic tutor for contract law, devising lectures, presentations and learning strategies for fellow students. Elizabeth was also the recipient of three CALI awards for highest performance in Civil Procedure II, Advocacy and Corporate and Tax Ethics.
Currently, Elizabeth volunteers for Loyola's 1L-Young Alumni Mentoring Program, which provides support to first-year law students to assist them in achieving greater academic success during law school.
She is a member of the Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce and its Legislative & Government Affairs Team, responsible for monitoring federal legislation, with a focus on impacts to small businesses and small-business owners. Elizabeth maintains Plan & Preserve, a blog that addresses hot topics in estate planning, asset protection, real estate and taxation. She offers insight into changing legislation, and strategies for leveraging these changes to the advantage of individuals and businesses.
In addition, Elizabeth has authored several news articles and client alerts for Chuhak & Tecson addressing key issues for clients and advisors, including her latest titled "Illinois Supreme Court Rules -- No Limits on Medical Malpractice Damages."
