Constant access, responsiveness, and understanding his clients’ goals and parameters are what Brendan (Buzz) McClelland feels are the keys to a successful practice. He also believes that approaching clients’ concerns with little bit of levity and humor, when needed, goes a long way in building rapport and ultimately gaining their trust. It is through this approach that he consistently helps them achieve their objectives as quickly and efficiently as possible.

As a senior counsel in Chuhak & Tecson’s Banking practice group, Buzz has extensive experience representing financial institutions, real estate investors and privately owned business entities in a variety of matters. He represents clients in various forms of civil litigation related to advocating for creditors’ rights, including prosecuting foreclosures and collection actions while defending mortgage lenders and servicers against unfair lending claims. In addition, Buzz advises individual and corporate clients in transactions related to the purchase and sale of residential and commercial property.

Buzz believes the reason that lawyers’ careers are called practices is due to the fact that they should always be “practicing,” taking every opportunity to expand their knowledge and develop their professional skills. Aside from keeping up-to-date on the latest legal developments and partaking in numerous CLE courses, he also occasionally engages in matters that are outside of the typical scope of his practice in an effort to both cultivate opportunities for collaboration with his colleagues as well as learn different aspects of the law.

Determining a client’s goal in regard to various situations and helping them satisfy that objective is the aspect of law that Buzz finds the most rewarding. He thoroughly enjoys the accomplishment of completing client-related responsibilities, and clients appreciate his skilled ability to keep matters simple and not overcomplicate the issues at hand.

When Buzz is not in the office, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, attending his three children’s numerous activities and sporting events in addition to coaching his youngest son’s baseball team. He is an active member of Christ the King Men’s Club, which raises money for his local Catholic parish. When the weather permits, Buzz also relishes playing golf and catching up with old friends as much as possible.
