Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary

Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. seeks a legal assistant/secretary with three to five years of legal experience in the area of commercial litigation and knowledge of the State of IL and Federal court procedures. Our ideal candidate will be experienced in preparing, editing and proofreading legal documents such as motions, notices of motions, subpoenas, complaints, affidavits for contested filings and accompanying documents, court and calendar scheduling and docketing. Our ideal candidate will also be experienced in and knowledgeable about CM/ECF and Odyssey electronic filing procedures and filing procedures for Circuit, Federal, Supreme, Appellate and collar county courts.

Further, our ideal candidate will possess demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, while interacting with all parties involved in a matter including internal team members, clients and/or adverse parties and across multiple communication media such as snail mail, e-mail, telephone and videoconference. Candidate must type a minimum of 70 words per minute; be experienced in time entry, electronic transcription, Microsoft Office 2016, advanced pdf functions and setting up video conferencing. Candidate must also demonstrate a mastery of the English language, both oral and written; possess exceptional attention to detail, proofreading and organizational skills; and be able to effectively prioritize among multiple matters. Candidate must be willing to assist with reception coverage on a seldom, but as needed, basis.
