Hudson to receive the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law's Inspiration Award
Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. Principal Kristen Hudson has been selected by the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law as the recipient of its 2018 Inspiration Award.
Presented annually at the Coalition’s Leadership Forum, this prominent award recognizes an outstanding woman attorney who serves as an inspiration to other women attorneys; demonstrates excellence in lawyering and achievement in her legal practice; advocates for gender parity and encourages the full talents, capabilities, skills and rights of women in the legal profession; and encourages women in the profession to accept opportunities and challenges and to expand their circle of influence. Hudson will receive the award at the Ninth Annual Leadership Forum on October 11 at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Chicago.
A highly respected commercial litigator, Hudson has received numerous recognitions for both her legal work and her contributions to the advancement of women in the legal profession, including, in 2015, 40 Under 40: 40 Illinois Attorneys to Watch; in 2016, the Alta May Hulett Award and Public Interest Law Initiative’s Distinguished Alumni Award; in 2017, Top 50 Women Lawyers in Illinois ; in 2017 and 2018 as an Illinois Super Lawyer and Leading Lawyer, with a featured profile in the Leading Lawyers Magazine Business Edition; and in 2018, a Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Women Lawyers award. At Chuhak & Tecson, Hudson currently serves as co-general counsel and is past chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Council.
Hudson is an adjunct professor at The John Marshall Law School and co-coach of the school’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team that competes in Hong Kong, China. She is also an advocate for pro bono organizations, committing her time to Chicago Volunteer Legal Services where she served on the board of directors and as president ex-officio.
A nonprofit membership association, the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law brings together women in law firms, government and companies of all sizes throughout the Chicago area. Along with the New York chapter, the coalition fosters career advancement and professional development, promotes dialogue and a support network among members, and addresses the many issues facing women lawyers and women's initiatives today.
