Paulina Garga-Chmiel selected to the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois

Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. attorney Paulina Garga-Chmiel has been selected to the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois. She joins an esteemed group of attorneys, the Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court and three other sitting bankruptcy judges, along with two representatives of the Office of the Clerk of the Bankruptcy Court.

As a member of the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee, Garga-Chmiel will develop, participate in and support educational programs concerning issues affecting the bench, attorneys, financial institutions and consumers. She will also assist in organizing and sponsoring social events to allow greater interaction between the court and the attorneys who appear before it.

Garga-Chmiel is an attorney of the firm’s Banking practice group. She represents lenders in foreclosure litigation, bankruptcy matters, collection actions, breach of contract disputes, evictions and other banking concerns, including loss mitigation. Dedicated to giving back to her community, she is actively involved with the Polish American Chamber of Commerce and Advocates Society, the Association of Polish-American Attorneys. At Chuhak & Tecson, she currently co-chairs the Diversity & Inclusion Council.

The Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee was formed to promote communications about court procedures, etiquette, filings, and other issues; to assist the court and attorneys in creating a more efficient environment; and to represent a diverse group of bankruptcy attorneys from the Chicago area.
