Andy serves as the firm’s President and a member of the Management Committee in addition to serving his many clients in the corporate, healthcare, and not for profit industries. Michelle is our chief problem solver. She says problem solving is really about agreement of what the actual issue is, and operates on the belief that this is 90 percent of every solution. She brings this skill—plus over 20 years of multi-faceted, interdisciplinary and creative experience—to her role. Michelle oversees all of the firm’s financial and operational functions, including accounting, finance, treasury, facilities, human resources, marketing, business development and technology.
Prior to joining Chuhak & Tecson in 2008, Michelle held executive roles in both boutique and AMLAW 100 law firms, a real estate development company and a high-net-worth investment advisory firm. She’s also worked in a painting and sign company, a consulting company and a not for profit. Her experience within a variety of industries and operational roles informs her can-do approach to finding practical solutions for both our firm and our clients. She has implemented many initiatives at the firm including the Women Helping Women business development and philanthropy program, the “25 Ways to Give Back" initiative for the firm’s 25th Anniversary, quality improvement, risk management and mitigation, and is assisting the principals with the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiative which was launched in 2014.
Michelle’s educational background includes a bachelor of science in economics from Arizona State University where she graduated magna cum laude and a master of arts in social sciences with an emphasis in economics from California Institute of Technology. Additionally, Michelle is an Illinois Certified and Registered Public Accountant and a member of the Illinois CPA Society, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Legal Administrators.
Outside the office, Michelle is actively involved in many charitable activities including Volunteers of America of IL and as a food-packing volunteer at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. She hikes, travels, walks her wiener dogs and has a passion for cooking and baking which culminates each year in her annual Mexican Madness gathering.
Charlie Altenbach, Chief Information Officer

With over 10 years of experience, Charlie is an innovator who leverages modern technology to meet enterprise-wide business goals by utilizing the technical capabilities of systems and networks. His technical expertise is equaled by his talent management, as he is viewed as a communicative and motivating leader. He serves on the firm’s Technology Subcommittee, contributing his specialized technical knowledge to the development of both strategic direction and key initiatives that are aimed at delivering the highest value service for our clients in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Prior to joining Chuhak & Tecson, Charlie was at the firm formerly known as Ungaretti & Harris. During his tenure as their Director of Information Technology, he substantially reduced IT costs through consolidation of infrastructure, along with focused design, development and implementation of innovative solutions. His efforts improved both key services and responsiveness and increased system uptime to 99 percent.
He attended Western State Colorado University, Edgewood College for Computer Science and DeVry University for the Technical Management Program. He is an active member of the International Legal Technology Association.
Charlie most of all loves spending time with his family, including coaching his kids’ sports teams, currently volleyball, and chaperoning father-daughter weekend camping events. He also enjoys jazz music from the 1960s performed by American artists such as Grant Green and Kenny Burrell.
Heidi Anderson, Controller

Heidi is a financial professional with broad general accounting and management experience spanning the real estate, hospitality, assisted living and nonprofit industries. One thing that sets her apart from her peers is her ability to recognize meaningful patterns in data and processes, allowing her to formulate innovative and effective strategies to handle both routine and unusual situations. Heidi describes good client service as endeavoring to anticipate solutions to potential questions before they are posed and to listen carefully to the needs of her audience when distilling data and creating management reports.
Prior to joining Chuhak & Tecson in 2016, Heidi gained a vast experience of 30 years through her roles at companies ranging in size from privately held start-ups to Fortune 500 organizations, many of which faced challenges unique to rapid expansion and reorganization. Most recently, as Controller for a regional office of one of the world’s largest nonprofit organizations, she managed all accounting, human resources and administrative functions.
Heidi received her bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Northern Iowa.
Mountain wild flowers, a still lake and fresh snow are the simple things Heidi enjoys. When she isn’t in the office, other hobbies include urban and nature hiking, waterskiing, healthy cooking—and the pursuit for the elusive perfect pie crust.
Evelyn Harris-Mallard, Secretarial Supervisor

Evelyn is one of the firm’s key players in managing employee relations. As a supervisor, her primary role is to facilitate the daily workflow between the attorneys and secretaries. By recommending and facilitating secretarial assignments—and continually redistributing workload where necessary—Evelyn is at the core of Chuhak & Tecson’s goal to maintain effective working relationships and balance, resulting in optimal client service.
Evelyn’s additional responsibilities include recruiting, negotiating, training, performing annual reviews and overseeing special projects. In her 30-plus years’ experience at both midsized and large law firms, she has honed her skills as a motivator and morale builder, and her staff values her proactive leadership style and open-door policy.
Evelyn attended Chicago College of Commerce for Court Reporting, DePaul University and Harold Washington College. In addition to two positions as a secretarial supervisor, she was a human resources manager for 15 years.
In her non-law firm life Evelyn is committed to her ministry and workout regime. Plus, she enjoys travel and loves spending time with her husband and family.
Jane LaGrassa, Manager of Marketing & Communications

Jane works in concert with the Marketing Committee and department to deliver strategies that meet the firm’s marketing and communications objectives. Her competencies include media relations, advertising, copywriting, editing, event planning, vendor relationships and sponsorships. Being a recent hire, she especially enjoys finding the right there with you culture in action throughout Chuhak & Tecson’s collegial environment.
Jane previously served as marketing manager for Leading Lawyers, a division of Law Bulletin Publishing Company. Prior to that she was manager of marketing and business development at the Illinois CPA Society. Throughout her career she has flourished in cross-functional team environments that created a start-up software company, developed a division specifically for C-Suite members within a statewide organization and launched a print publication.
She has a bachelor of arts degree in marketing communications from Columbia College Chicago.
In her free time Jane hones her skills in documentary-style people photography. She also enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and time with her family and friends.
Darius Rogers, Manager of Office Services

Darius exemplifies Chuhak & Tecson’s right there with you philosophy. He believes that everyone is a representation of the firm, and his commitment to excellence and going above and beyond is well known and highly regarded by his colleagues. His accomplishments are but a building block to his ultimate goal—service to our clients.
Darius keeps the firm’s facilities operating smoothly. He oversees a variety of office and building-related functions, including carrying out security-related responsibilities, facilitating construction projects, coordinating office and workstation moves, maintaining all non-IT related equipment, vendor negotiations and cost control, and shipping and receiving. He also led the firm in its internal building emergency plan.
Darius joined the firm in 2000 and was promoted to supervisor before being named Chuhak & Tecson’s first Office Services Manager. He enjoys working in the firm’s family oriented atmosphere, which has helped him grow professionally.
Born and raised in Chicago, Darius is an avid sports fan who enjoys cooking for family and friends.
Jessica Templeton, Director of Human Resources

Jessica’s penchant for the development and delivery of strategic solutions to meet workforce demands spans over 15 years. Her business and management skills strengthen her abilities in the areas of staffing and recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management and on-boarding. She has successfully implemented a private exchange health plan for the firm. She also serves on the firm’s diversity and inclusion council and the lateral recruiting and fun, fitness and ‘f’ilanthropy committees.
Prior to joining Chuhak & Tecson Jessica held positions as the senior human resources business partner at Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, human resources manager at a boutique intellectual property firm and human resources generalist at a large general practice firm.
Jessica’s educational background includes a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Iowa, a master’s of business administration from Lewis University, and she has held a professional in human resources certification since 2002. She is also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago.
As advisor for Alpha Xi Delta programs and alumni relations at DePaul University, Jessica enjoys providing leadership and coaching to the women of the chapter. She also trains during her free time and recently completed her first Spartan Race.
