Kevin relishes his roles as both legal counsel and business advisor, navigating the legal issues involved in commercial property transactions while also providing sound analysis of their investment potential and financial risks.
Kevin has represented national franchises, restaurants, bars and professional practices and has substantial experience negotiating office, retail and industrial leases on the national and local levels for both landlords and tenants. Priding himself on the personal attention he brings to every transaction, Kevin crafts meticulous documentation tailored to align with the client’s present and future business needs and goals.
Having previously served on Naperville City Council as well as the DuPage County Stormwater Commission, Kevin possesses a unique perspective and constructive insight that he utilizes for the benefit of clients facing zoning, permitting and land use issues throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
In 2021 Kevin was chosen as one of Crain’s Chicago Business‘ “Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law,” and he also received their “Notable Gen X Leaders in Law” honor in 2019. This select group of accomplished attorneys between the ages of 40 and 55 hold senior leadership positions within the firm, serve as role models or mentors to other attorneys and are leaders outside of their law firms in professional organizations and community service initiatives. In addition, and for four consecutive years, Kevin earned the Leading Lawyer distinction which is awarded to less than 5% of all licensed lawyers in Illinois.
Kevin stays abreast of changes and development in real estate law by frequently attending legal educational programs offered by bar associations and other real estate organizations and he is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. His commitment to continually expanding the scope of his knowledge to better serve his clients was also demonstrated by his mid-career decision to return to law school to earn an advanced law degree (LL.M) in Real Estate law.
In addition to serving as leader of the Real Estate practice group, Kevin currently serves as a member of the Finance Committee and has been a member of the firm’s Strategy Development Committee and Recruitment Committee.
Kevin and his family live in Naperville, where he is a member of the Naperville Chamber of Commerce and is active in its vibrant not for profit community. When not serving his clients or his community, Kevin enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer team.
