HIPAA regulatory compliance

Since the original enactment of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in 2002, our attorneys have worked closely with our healthcare provider clients to ensure that our clients have appropriate safeguards and policies implemented to protect the privacy, portability, electronic transmission and security of every patient's protected health information. With the recent sweeping changes to HIPAA passed in connection with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, our attorneys have worked diligently with our clients to quickly respond to and implement required changes to our clients' existing HIPAA policies and procedures. Our attorneys work closely with our clients to implement HIPAA policies and procedures that are compliant with the law and to provide our clients with practical legal advice when issues with privacy, portability, electronic transmission and security of protected health information arise.
