Construction law

The firm represents owners, developers, contractors, sub-contractors, material suppliers and architects, in all phases of the construction process, from preliminary planning to post-occupancy issues. These services include contract negotiation, management, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

The Firm's construction litigation experience includes the representation of general contractors, mechanical systems subcontractors, demolition contractors, and owners in a large variety of private and public project settings. In addition to its work on general construction matters the C&T Construction Litigation Team has handled cases throughout the nation, and has particular skill defending personal injury cases pursued in the Circuit Court of Cook County and the United States District Courts in Illinois. C&T's attorneys serve as lead counsel in a claim management program for self-insured construction entities who must utilize commercial risk managers.

In addition to their construction litigation experience, the team's attorneys have extensive experience handling insurance coverage matters and disputes. They have counseled clients on comprehensive insurance programs, arbitrated coverage disputes, and tried coverage cases for municipal, corporate, and insurance company clients including Lloyd's of London.
