Environmental law

Environmental issues are gaining prominence in most countries throughout the world. The Firm's environmental lawyers counsel domestic and foreign clients on the most effective and least costly way to comply with new and existing laws, rules and regulations.

Environmental issues lurk in almost every real estate transaction or corporate acquisition. The environmental law practice of the Firm is experienced in reviewing environmental reports, quickly finding relevant environmental issues and providing clients with practical solutions. We use environmental laws in the courts in creative ways to benefit our clients.

Our litigation experience includes prosecuting citizen suits for real estate clients, recovering costs expended to clean property, filing class actions and defending environmental enforcement matters. We have litigated cases under all the major environmental laws, including CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act.

Representative clients include companies ranging from national corporations to emerging businesses, trade associations and individuals with existing or potential environmental issues to resolve, and covering a broad range of businesses, including: chemical, education, financial services, food, gas and petroleum, government, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, real estate and waste disposal.
