Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. congratulates Tae Young Kim, principal in the firm’s litigation practice group, as he proudly assumes the presidency of the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (AABA).

Founded in 1987 on the belief that a professional bar association could serve not only the interests of its members, but also the community from which its members came, AABA is one of the largest Asian American bar associations in the nation. It encourages and promotes the professional growth of its members, serves the Asian American Pacific communities and fosters the exchange of ideas and information among its members and the public.

Kim says that the honor of leading AABA is deeply personal, as the organization and its members have played a significant role in shaping the trajectory of his legal career and have redoubled his pride in his heritage and community.

“I was so fortunate to benefit from the lessons and experiences of the AABA attorneys who came before me,” Kim says. “They understood the importance of our shared background and values and how those manifest themselves in the way we practice law and the way we serve others. It is truly a privilege to be able to pay that forward for the next generation of Asian American leaders in the law.”

Kim focuses his practice on commercial litigation and disputes and also serves as outside general counsel for a range of industries. He has amassed an impressive record of favorable results in state and federal courts as well as before administrative tribunals in cases involving a broad spectrum of commercial, transactional, banking, securities, trusts and estates, real estate and labor matters. In his corporate and transactional work, Kim has led negotiations for complex, international deals with companies on the Forbes Global 2000 list.
