He thoroughly enjoys advocating and assisting clients through this area of law that touches all of us at those key crossroads in our lives.

Overview

Nick brings well-rounded experience to the firm having worked on both sides of the bench. He was a staff attorney for the Probate Division of Cook County, where he wrote more than 70 opinions on contested estate matters. After leaving the court, Nick joined a boutique estate administration and litigation firm where he represented clients in routine and contested estate matters. He also worked at a multinational law firm where he advised high net worth clients on how to achieve their wealth transfer goals.

These diverse experiences makes him an asset to this practice and his clients. Nick prides himself on seeing the whole picture and understands the estates and trusts legal landscape. He promises to offer competency and constructive advice to his clients throughout the course of their engagement.

In addition to his legal competency, the cornerstone of Nick’s practice is his compassion. Nick often meets with clients at their most vulnerable moment. They are planning for their legacy or succession, seeking help with their disabled family member, administering a deceased loved one’s estate or trying to understand a love one’s estate plan. Nick always encourages his clients to call him to discuss their case. He takes his promise of compassion seriously and he will meet his clients wherever they are on their journey and help them to their destination.

Prior to attending law school, Nicholas was a member of AmeriCorps, a federal program for national service and volunteerism, working in a 6th grade classroom. Despite foregoing a career in education, Nicholas utilizes the skills he learned in the classroom to communicate and reach his clients. He knows the impact that he can have as an attorney and the importance of framing complex issues simply.

Nick received his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in sociology and legal studies. After serving in AmeriCorps, he earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Nick and his wife, Mikayla, enjoy completing 1,000-piece puzzles together over one of their delicious brews from their home brewery. When he is not spending time with his wife, he can generally be found on Chicago’s lakefront trail training for his next race. Nick also regularly plays chess, works on the New York Times crossword puzzles and solves a variety of Rubik’s cubes.
