Using the law as a tool to give her clients peace of mind and comfort, Christina Mermigas focuses her practice on serving the needs of large and small businesses and their owners in the Chicagoland area and beyond.
As a transactional attorney, Christina develops strong, trusting relationships with established or newly formed, closely held or publically traded business entities so as to better understand their businesses and goals. She takes a detail oriented, task driven approach to efficiently navigate these clients through the myriad of transactional and taxation issues they face.
Christina is experienced in representing clients in all phases of a business’ life cycle, including raising capital, choosing the most appropriate legal entity formation, the sale of stock or assets and the transition of ownership and management. She has aided in providing counsel on mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and buy-sell agreements, commercial real estate sales and purchases, and development and maintenance of corporate governance. Her practice involves negotiating and drafting all types of commercial contracts, including purchase and sale contracts, leases, and employment, confidentiality, and noncompetition agreements.
Licensed in both Florida and Illinois, Christina also provides business and personal clients with assistance in the areas of estate and trust planning and administration and probate matters. She drafts revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents for both small and sizable, complex estates which involve advanced concepts such as business succession planning. Her diverse knowledge and ability to present poignant analysis and advice in a digestible and useful format makes her well appreciated by clients and co-workers alike.
