Lenders of all sizes, especially middle-market institutions, rely on Andrew Glubisz to protect and advance their interests and minimize their risks across a broad spectrum of complex and consequential transactions. But his extensive experience throughout the lending lifecycle, from origination, underwriting and due diligence through workouts and other efforts involving distressed loans, is only one aspect of the value he adds for his clients.

Overview

Andrew complements his deep substantive knowledge with an intuitive understanding of what lenders and their internal constituencies need from outside counsel – clear and timely reporting, efficient, cost-effective portfolio management, and straightforward yet sophisticated assessments and analysis. He puts a high priority on responding quickly to questions, meeting deadlines, keeping promises and providing exceptional service. These qualities have made Andrew a valued and trusted ally and advisor and formed the foundation of long-term client relationships.

With a background practicing in the real estate industry, representing lenders and borrowers alike, Andrew brings valuable insights and perspectives to his work, allowing him to anticipate and prepare for the many scenarios, whether favorable or unfavorable, that can unfold over the life of a transaction. The loan documentation he crafts, as well as the forbearance agreements, deeds in lieu of foreclosure and other loan modifications he implements, are informed by his experience and well-tailored to maximize protections and options for lenders. While he will spare no effort to shield his clients from avoidable risk, he does so with a watchful eye on their bottom lines and a commitment to refrain from “overlawyering” or needless complications that could delay or scuttle a promising deal.

Andrew is also deeply knowledgeable about reviewing contracts, negotiating and drafting commercial leases, tax appeals, estate planning and probate matters. He has represented condominium associations in a variety of transactions and prepared incorporation and other organizational documents on behalf of corporate clients.

Active in firm activities, he previously served as chair of Chuhak & Tecson’s Associate/Law Clerk Oversight Committee, as chair of the Professional Education Committee, and as a member of the Business Development & Marketing Committee and the Recruitment Committee. He currently serves as an ombudsperson for the firm. Andrew also enjoys presenting instructional seminars for lender clients on loan documentation, title insurance and related issues.

As a proud and active member of Chicago’s Ukrainian American community, Andrew makes a conscious effort to bring the influences of his heritage to work with him every day. Old-world values of hard work, accountability and looking out for his fellow man continue to shape his 21st-century legal practice. He is deeply involved with the American Ukrainian Youth Association, where he serves as a member of the board of directors and legal officer.
