A significant portion of Brandon’s practice is devoted to enforcing the rights and remedies of financial institutions in matters including commercial foreclosure, replevin, guaranty enforcement, the Uniform Commercial Code and fraudulent transfers. He represents both secured and unsecured creditors in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings, including adversary litigation. Brandon also defends financial institutions against lender liability claims and a range of other commercial disputes.
His commercial litigation practice includes the representation of businesses and individuals in actions involving breach of contract, business tort, fraud and shareholder/membership disputes, among others. In real estate litigation, Brandon represents title insurers in coverage matters and their insureds in quiet title actions, lien priority disputes, boundary conflicts and easement claims. His practice also includes handling mechanics lien cases and a variety of landlord-tenant disputes.
Prior to entering private practice, Brandon served as an assistant state’s attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where he first-chaired dozens of trials and authored more than 30 appellate briefs.
Brandon has served on the firm’s Strategy Development Committee and is currently chair of the Finance Committee.
