John Adams, whose clients include individuals and closely held businesses, is a business attorney practicing in the areas of federal and state taxation, estate planning, estate and trust administration, and general corporate law. He has extensive experience in preparation and review of federal and state estate tax returns and is successful in negotiating favorable settlements with the IRS. John’s practice also involves income tax controversy matters before the IRS and the Illinois Department of Revenue.

John is a certified public accountant with a master of laws degree in taxation from DePaul University. He previously worked as a tax consultant with Price Waterhouse. John served Chuhak & Tecson for two years as an Ombudsperson and has also participated on the firm’s Professional Education, Recruitment and Finance Committees. John has been selected by his peers to be among the top five percent of lawyers in Illinois—making him a Leading Lawyer every year since 2011.

A dedicated athlete and family man, John has run five marathons and supported his children’s athletic endeavors as a coach and referee. He and his family are actively involved in their church.
